Dacron patch graft

The distal arch, proximal left subclavian artery, and upper thoracic aorta are dissected. An incision is made from the base of the subclavian artery across the coarctation and into the descending thoracic aorta. Dacron patch. The angiogram reveals a large aortic dilatation into the base of the left subclavian artery. At surgery a large thoracic aneurysm is found. The aorta is mobilized for proximal and distal control. Repair is performed with partial cardiopulmonary bypass and exclusion of the aneurysm between aortic clamps.
