Ask the children what sin is. Explain that we all sin--do things we know we should not do. Ask them what types of things that they do that they know they should not do. For each statement, add a drop of food coloring. After a few drops, explain that Jesus died for our sin. We can pray to Jesus when we do wrong.

We can tell him that we will make every effort not to do whatever the statement was anymore. When we ask Him for forgiveness, it is given to us because be believe and have faith in Him. Tell the children you are going to pray and they should watch the jar to see what happens to their sin. Say a prayer aloud including the statements the children made. For example, "God, we try to do good but we all sin and make mistakes. Thank you for your love and your forgiveness and for helping us to love each other.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen". As you finish your prayer, drop bleach into the jar using the eyedropper. Drop one drop at a time until the water is clear again. Provide them on laminated cards so the children can use low-odor dry erase markers to trace the name, provide lots of paper and markers at the table.
