Vgn z11wn windows 7 drivers
I was using the tweaked drivers from the forums here, so maybe the original drivers didn't push the card as hard as the new ones? Have fun Finn. FinnN , Sep 13, Are u sure the fan was on, when the computer died? Mine had similar problem, that the fan sometimes didn't kick on while doing something CPU demanding like watching a flash video while being in the Silent mode.
I was trying to repair it by myself, but probably screwed up and broke the motherboard. I sent it to the repair centre and they exchanged MB for free! As overheating is their problem. That fan problem happened once again though.
From that time I don't use Silent mode at all and that problem didn't happen - knock knock. So try to use Balanced mode Performance mode while gaming , and if it'll be still overhating, send it to repair center.
It's not problem of Win7. Metsn , Sep 13, Finn I have higher temperatures just when i switch in speed mode, also keeping it in idle.
If i try to play a game or a fullHD video it gets hotter and it shuts down every time. Currently I've installe the latest official drivers for win7 64 bit.
Metsn Unfortunately mine is not a fan problem, fan is always on and a little noisy in stamina mode too! I can't send it to the repair center right now until i'll put vista on it because Sony doesn't support windows 7 on first generation z that's incredible because it has the same hardware as the second gen!
I'm starting thinking about putting vista or xp on it and try if it is still hot or it gets warmer. My Z is also first generation and it was not problem for repair center, as such overheating is not a problem connected to software, but to hardware.
Various drivers can cause various temperatures, but except some complete error I didn't try any drivers which would make my GPU go over C. Before that try different GPU drivers though.
